EuroMIT 2026 back in France, in Angers!

The EuroMIT 2026 International Congress on Mitochondrial Diseases will take place from 30 May to 4 June 2026 at the Jean Monnier Congress Centre in Angers.

EuroMIT 2026, the next international congress dedicated to mitochondrial diseases, will be held in Angers from 30 May to 4 June 2026. This marks a return to France more than thirty years after the Chantilly edition.

Supported Par the University of Angers, the MitoVasc laboratory, the Angers University Hospital and the European scientific society E-MIT, the congress is being led Par Guy Lenaers, head of MitoVasc, Timothy Wai, head of the Mitochondrial Biology Laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, and Vincent Procaccio, professor of genetics and leader of the NeuroMitOmics (NeMO) research programme at Angers University Hospital.

A major scientific event

Organised every three years in Europe, each edition of EuroMIT welcomes more than 800 doctors, researchers and healthcare professionals from around the world. EuroMIT 2026 will therefore be a major scientific event, with Professor Patrick Chinnery from the University of Cambridge, a doctor and researcher specialising in mitochondrial diseases, as the guest of honour.

More broadly, eight scientific sessions are scheduled over five days, led Par 30 speakers from Europe, the United States, Australia, Canada and China. The first day will be dedicated to young researchers, and the event will close with an interactive session involving doctors, researchers and patient associations (in accordance with LEEM/EFPIA ethical rules). The congress will also feature more than 500 posters, industry symposiums and an exhibition area for partners.
