Immune Dysfunctions and Mitochondrial Diseases (MitoID)

The main criteria for participation

The MitoID study is recruiting 30 participants monitored at the Bordeaux and Toulouse University Hospitals, aged 6 years and older and weighing at least 30 kg, suffering from mitochondrial disease due to mutations in mitochondrial DNA, and as many people with similar profiles (age and sex) but without known mitochondrial pathology.

The objective

MitoIDaims to characterize immune dysfunctions associated with mitochondrial diseases. These immunological data could help improve diagnosis and become predictive factors for the progression of the pathology, but also open the way to new treatment approaches.

In practice

The study lasts one year. During the inclusion visit, six tubes of blood are taken from each participant.

The study is being conducted in two research centers, at the Bordeaux and Toulouse University Hospitals.

Where are we?

Recruitment is underway in Bordeaux, but has not yet started in Toulouse.
